Emori

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 23 October 2026

This page is a translation of the original French version. If the two versions differ, the French version prevails.

In short. Emori is a private voice journal. Your memories belong to you: we do not sell them, we show no ads and we do not use them to train artificial intelligence models. You can delete your account and all your data at any time.

1. Who is responsible for your data

The controller of your personal data is GENO STUDIO LTD, a company registered in England and Wales under number 17113844, whose registered office is at Suite 3H, The Old Courthouse, Chapel Street, Dukinfield, SK16 4DT, United Kingdom (publisher of the Emori app). For any question about this policy or your data, you can write to us at contact@emori.site.

2. The data we process

Your account

You create your account with “Sign in with Apple”, with Google on Android, or with your email address by entering a code we send you by email. We then receive a unique identifier and your email address. With Apple, this may be a private relay address generated by Apple to hide your real address. We never have access to your Apple or Google password.

Your preferences

To tailor the experience to you, we keep the information you provide when you create your journal: your first name, your date of birth, the intentions you choose, your preferred reminder time and your language. Your first name and date of birth are optional: you can create your journal without giving them.

Your memories

  • Voice recording. When you talk about your day, your recording is sent to our transcription provider to be converted into text. New recordings are not kept on our servers: the original stays on your device and only the text produced by the transcription is saved.
  • Memory text. The transcription of your story, or the message you write, is saved in your journal. An artificial intelligence model analyses it to draw out a summary, a mood, themes, the people and places mentioned and any things to do. When you correct the spelling of a name, we remember it and apply it to your next memories.
  • Search. To let you find your memories by idea, we compute a numerical representation of each memory and of each search. When you ask your journal a question, it is sent, together with the most relevant memory excerpts, to an artificial intelligence model that writes the answer. Word search works directly in your own texts.
  • Groups. If you join a group, its members see the name you choose for that group. A memory you share there, by hand or automatically if you turn that on, shows its text, its date and its photos to the members of the group, never its recording. You can remove a shared memory, or leave the group, at any time. Deleting a memory or your account removes it from every group.
  • Photos. The photos you add to a memory, and their thumbnails, are stored in a private space linked to your account. Only you can see them, along with the members of a group where you share that memory.

Technical data

Our hosting providers keep minimal technical logs (for example connection timestamps) needed for the service to work and stay secure.

Usage analytics

To understand how the app is used and fix errors, we record usage events (for example opening the app, or submitting a memory and its length), your device model and operating system, the app version and error reports. These events are linked to your account identifier, never to your email address. They never contain the content of your memories or your searches. You can turn this off at any time in Profile › Personalization › “Help improve Emori”.

Your subscription

If you subscribe to Emori Premium, the purchase is processed by Apple or Google. Through RevenueCat, we receive the status of your subscription: the plan, the purchase, trial, renewal and expiry dates, the store country and currency, and transaction identifiers. This information is linked to your account identifier. We never receive your payment card details. Without a subscription, we also count the number of searches made each day with “Ask your journal”, a simple counter erased after a few days.

What we do not do. Emori uses no advertising cookies and no ad network. We do not build a marketing profile, we do not resell any data and we share nothing with advertisers.

4. Who your data is shared with

We rely on a small number of technical providers that process data on our behalf, solely to make Emori work:

Provider Role Data involved
Supabase Database hosting, authentication and storage Account, preferences, memories
OpenRouter Access to the artificial intelligence models that transcribe your voice, analyse your memories and answer your questions. OpenRouter forwards each request to the provider that runs the model (ElevenLabs for transcription, Google and a host of the DeepSeek model for analysis and answers). Voice recording, memory text, questions asked (processed transiently)
Voyage AI Computing the numerical representations used for search by idea and for ranking results Text of memories and searches
PostHog Usage analytics and error tracking, hosted in the European Union Account identifier, usage events, device information
MailerSend Sending the emails that contain your login code Email address
Apple Signing in with “Sign in with Apple” Account identifier, email address
Google Signing in with Google on Android Account identifier, email address
RevenueCat Management of Emori Premium subscriptions bought on the App Store or Google Play Account identifier, subscription status and history, transaction identifiers, store country and currency

These providers are contractually bound to protect your data and to use it only for the service requested. We may also disclose data where the law requires it.

Payments are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play), acting as independent controllers under their own privacy policies.

5. International data transfers

Our company is established in England and the database is hosted in the European Union. Several of our providers, including OpenRouter, the model providers it forwards requests to, Voyage AI, Apple and Google, are established outside the European Union, in particular in the United States. Your voice recording, the text of your memories and your questions may therefore be transferred and processed outside the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom. These transfers are covered by appropriate safeguards, in particular the standard contractual clauses of the European Commission and the UK International Data Transfer Addendum (UK IDTA). RevenueCat, which manages subscriptions, is also based in the United States and covered by the same safeguards.

6. How long we keep it

We keep your account, your preferences and your memories for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, your data is erased immediately and permanently, including your usage analytics data. Copies may remain briefly in the technical backups of our hosting providers before being erased automatically. Some information may be kept longer where the law requires it: any accounting and billing records for at least 6 years, and technical logs for up to 12 months. Subscription information is kept while your account is active and is erased at RevenueCat when you delete it; Apple and Google keep your purchase history under their own rules.

7. Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have the following rights:

  • Access to your data;
  • Rectification of inaccurate data;
  • Erasure of your data (the “right to be forgotten”);
  • Portability of your data;
  • Objection to and restriction of processing;
  • Withdrawal of your consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing already carried out.

To exercise these rights, you can write to us at contact@emori.site. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority: in the United Kingdom, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO); if you live in the European Union, the authority in your country (for example the CNIL in France).

8. Deleting your account and your data

You can delete your account directly in the app, under Profile. All your data is then erased immediately. You can also request this by email. The detailed steps are described on our Delete my data page.

9. Security

Your data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Access to your memories is protected by your account and isolated at the database level: only your session can read your own memories. Since no system is infallible, we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we put reasonable measures in place to protect you.

10. Children

Emori is not intended for people under 15 and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you think a child has given us data, let our team know and we will delete it.

11. Changes

We may update this policy. If there is a significant change, we will let you know in the app or by email. The date of the last update appears at the top of this page.

12. Contact us

A question about your data? You can write to us at contact@emori.site.
