Terms of Use

Last updated: 23 October 2026

This page is a translation of the original French version. If the two versions differ, the French version prevails.

Welcome to Emori. These terms of use (the “Terms”) govern your use of the Emori mobile app (the “Service”), published by GENO STUDIO LTD (“we”), a company registered in England and Wales under number 17113844. By creating an account or using Emori, you accept these Terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the Service.

1. The service

Emori is a personal journal that lets you record memories by voice or in writing, keep them as structured text and find them again through search. The Service may change: we may add, modify or remove features.

2. Your account

You create your account with “Sign in with Apple”, with Google on Android, or with your email address by entering a code we send you by email. You are responsible for the activity carried out from your account and for the security of the device on which it is open. You must be at least 15 years old to use Emori.

3. Your content

Your memories, recordings and texts belong to you (“your Content”). You grant us only the limited technical permission needed to host, transcribe, structure, display and return your Content to you as part of the Service, as described in our privacy policy. We claim no ownership of your Content and do not use it to train artificial intelligence models.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the Service for illegal purposes or to infringe the rights of others;
  • attempt to access the accounts or data of other users;
  • disrupt, overload or circumvent the security measures of the Service;
  • use the Service to record a person without their consent where the law requires it.

5. Transcription and automated processing

The transcription and formatting of your stories are carried out automatically and may contain errors or inaccuracies. The generated content is provided for information only; it does not constitute professional advice (medical, legal, financial or otherwise).

6. Availability

We do our best to keep the Service available, but we do not guarantee that it will run without interruption or errors. The Service may be temporarily suspended for maintenance or for reasons beyond our control.

7. Termination

You can stop using Emori and delete your account at any time from the app (see Delete my data). We may suspend or close an account that breaches these Terms or the law.

If you have an Emori Premium subscription, deleting your account does not cancel it: remember to cancel it in your Apple or Google account settings (see section 10).

8. Warranties and liability

The Service is provided “as is”. To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties and we cannot be held liable for indirect damages. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded, in particular towards consumers.

9. App Store and Google Play

When you download Emori from Apple’s App Store or from Google Play, Apple and Google are not parties to these Terms and are not responsible for the Service or its support. These Terms are entered into between you and us, not with Apple or Google.

10. Emori Premium

Emori is free. Some features require a paid subscription, Emori Premium: adding photos to your memories, more than three searches a day with “Ask your journal”, the rewards journey and creating groups. This list may change; the app always shows what is included before you buy.

  • Plans and prices. Emori Premium is offered as a monthly or a yearly plan. The price, currency and any taxes are shown in the app before you buy.
  • Payment. You buy with your Apple or Google account, which collects the payment under its own terms. We never receive your payment card details.
  • Free trial. When a free trial is offered, its length is shown before you buy. It is granted only once per Apple or Google account. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends, the paid subscription starts automatically and the first period is charged. If you buy a subscription during the trial, the rest of the trial is forfeited.
  • Automatic renewal. The subscription renews automatically for the same length, at the price then in force, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. The renewal is charged within the 24 hours before that end.
  • Cancellation. You can cancel at any time in your account settings: on iPhone, Settings › your name › Subscriptions; on Android, Google Play › Payments and subscriptions › Subscriptions. Emori also takes you there from Profile › Premium › Manage my subscription. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period already paid, and you keep Premium until then. Deleting the app or your Emori account does not cancel the subscription.
  • Refunds. Since payments are collected by Apple or Google, refund requests go to them, under their terms. Unless the law requires otherwise, a period that has started is not refunded pro rata.
  • Right of withdrawal. Depending on where you live, you may have a right of withdrawal of 14 days, exercised with Apple or Google through their own procedures.
  • Price changes. If the price changes, Apple or Google informs you in advance under its rules, and you can cancel before the new price applies.
  • End of the subscription. When the subscription ends, Premium features are no longer available. Your memories stay accessible, including photos already added. Groups you created stay readable but no longer accept new shares.
  • Restoring purchases. On a new device, use the same Emori account, or tap “Restore purchases” in Profile › Premium.
  • Rewards. The rewards of the Premium journey, for example a song, a postcard or an illustrated book of your memories, are gifts offered on top of access to the features. Their nature, timing and availability, including postal delivery depending on your country, may change. They have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for money.

11. Changes

We may change these Terms. If there is a significant change, we will let you know in the app or by email. By continuing to use the Service, you accept the updated Terms.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any dispute falls within the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, without prejudice to the mandatory protective provisions that apply in your country of habitual residence.

13. Publisher and hosting

The Service is published by GENO STUDIO LTD, a company registered in England and Wales under number 17113844, whose registered office is at Suite 3H, The Old Courthouse, Chapel Street, Dukinfield, SK16 4DT, United Kingdom (email: contact@emori.site). The database and authentication are hosted by Supabase, in the European Union; the website is served by a static hosting provider.
